Tongue Piercing
Tongue piercing can result in serious injury - including chipped and fractured teeth, gum trauma, hemorrhage, and infection - there is now a new concern. According to a study by the University of Buffalo, tongue piercing can cause a gap in the front teeth that may cost thousands of dollars in orthodontic bills to fix. The presence of the barbell in the tongue encouraged habit in a very high percentage of cases wherein subjects pushed the metal stud against and in between their upper front teeth which lead to a formation of a gap.
